Interdigital EdgeLink (60 GHz) mmWave Mash Transport System

InterDigital's EdgeLink is a wireless solution delivering high capacity links with very low latency over an unlicensed 60 GHz link. It is based on 802.11ad (WiGig) compliant system with network discovery and neighbor selection algorithm built on top of SDN framework (ONOS and Open vSwitch).

An EdgeLink Mesh Node consists of the EdgeLink II Processor unit (with integrated antenna as shown in Figure 1) and the secondary Antenna unit (that can optionally be attached to the Processor unit over the USB cable). Both units have a 28 dBi high-gain directional antennas providing connectivity over long range (up to 700 meters apart with characterization at distances of up to 200 m).

As deployed in sandbox 1, the two processor units are mounted on the WINLAB's rooftop approximately 60 m apart.
